Community mobilisation is one of our core values and we relish sharing our passion and knowledge with anyone and everyone, from tourism operators to local schools and all members of the community.
Education Activity
For 2025 we will continue our ‘Moodhu Kudhin’, or ‘Children of the Sea’ initiative. We will also be running our internship programme and look forward to announcing a new scheme that supplements the school syllabus with exciting out-of-classroom projects.
Internships
In addition to our expeditions, we also offer a limited number of internships annually. These are advertised on our website and social media channels when they arise, and specify whether the position is open to local or international candidates.
Public Engagement
We offer whale shark presentations to the public and training sessions for Big Fish Network members so that whale shark guides and marine biologists are able to get involved with our research.
