Most of MWSRP’s internship opportunities prioritise recruiting aspiring Maldivian marine scientists and building capacity here in the country. These internships typically run for three or six months and offer a chance for the successful candidate to acquire extensive field experience and learn various data collection methods.

For internship postings released including international post-graduate research students, candidates must be a minimum of MSc level. MWSRP will select the best candidates to explore either preset topics or viable (within the scope of our operation and survey transects) research proposals. Successful candidates selected by the MWSRP scientific advisory board will have access to the MWSRP dataset and carry out fieldwork to collect data themselves.
